DL ARCHETYPES:
Here is NFL Scout 247 we break the QB Prospects into 3 Archetypes:

2. PASS RUSHER: Ability to win pass rush reps
3. BALANCED: Ability to stop the run and rush the passer
2025 NFL DL PROSPECTS

DT1 MASON GRAHAM/ MICHIGAN/ 6"3/ 320 LBS/ TOP 10
Pros: Athleticism, Technique, Pass rush

Cons: Double teams, power rush

Archetype: Balanced

Comparison: (Heavier) Braden Fiske

Scouting Report: Mason Graham is a freak of nature. At 6”4 320 lbs, he moves with an amazing burst and gets off once the ball is snapped. He is very technically sound as a player, is very strong in holding his gap in the run game, and is a talented pass rusher from the inside out. He is versatile, able to play as a 1 tech, 3 tech or over the tackle as 4 tech on pass rushing downs. He is a high motor player. He does struggle with taking on double teams and needs to develop more of a power rush moveset as DT. Overall I can see why Mason Graham is high on Draft boards and given his talent and impact at the DL position, he is a blue collar prospect that falls somewhere in the top 10.

DT2 TJ SANDERS/ SOUTH CAROLINA/ 6"4/ 290 LBS/ LATE 1ST
Pros: Disruptive, High awareness, good mover

Cons: Weight, pass rush plan,

Archetype: Balanced

Comparison: Nick Fairley
Scouting Report: TJ Sanders might be one of the smartest players on the defensive line. He demonstrates this by having a high sense of awareness of where the ball is and recognizes plays as they develop (like screens). He is a disruptive force on the defensive line. He has good sound technique. He’s a smooth mover. He is a bit of a tweener DL and he isn’t the best run stuffing DT, but he can hold his ground, tackle the ball carrier and get pressure on the QB. I really liked his film and can see him having high potential. He is a borderline day 1 pick or could fall into the early day two.

DT3 OMARR NORMAN-LOTT/ TENN/ 6"3/ 291 LBS/ EARLY 2ND
Pros: Athlete, high motor, pass rush

Cons: Weight, footwork,

Archetype: Balanced

Comparison: Levi Onwuzurike

Scouting Report: Omarr Norman-Lott is explosive! His first step of the ball is scary and he has a high motor, relentless to get to the passer and wreak havoc in the backfield. He has a high awareness. He is a tweener DT that will need to work on his strength and adding weight to his frame. He has good durability, but his stamina is in question after only taking 225 snaps. However, in those snaps he managed to record 5 sacks, 9 hits and 13 hurries which is pretty solid. I really like him as a prospect and is one of my higher graded DTs in this draft. I think he can slip into the 1st round, but is more likely a 2nd round pick.

DT4 DERRICK HARMON/ OREGON/ 6"5/ 310 LBS/ EARLY 2ND
Pros: Explosiveness, Disrupter, Pass Rush

Cons: Pass Rush Moves, Effort?

Archetype: Balanced

Comparison: Jeffery Simmons

Scouting Report: Derrick Harmon has some potential traits that makes him an interesting prospect. He is long, quick, and a disrupter in the back field. His vertical penetration into the backfield is due to his explosiveness. He is a good athlete. He could work on his hands and technique. He also gets lost and doesn;t realise where the ball is at times. His raw play style needs refining, but like a diamond in the rough he just needs some great coaching and tools to equip him to be a high level NFL DT. He can play inside at the 1 or 3, but His weight makes me see him more as a 3 tech or 4 tech DE in a 3-4 Defense. I like him as a prospect and have him above other prospects because of athletic prowess and movement alone.

DT5 DARIUS ALEXANDER/ TOLEDO/ 6"4/ 310 LBS/ MID 2ND
Pros: Hands, sets anchor,

Cons: finesse pass rush, track ball, tackling?

Archetype: Balanced

Comparison: Bilal Nichols

Scouting Report: Darius Alexander may have played at a MAC school, but he graded as one of the more dominant DTs in the nation. He has good size, long arms, and quick twitch off the ball. He has a fairly high motor and takes good cut off angles when pursuing ball carriers. He is aggressive with his hands and his technique is quite polished. He is still growing as a pass rusher, needs to do a better job collapsing the pocket, his footwork can be cleaned up and can he handle bigger stronger NFL O Lineman? I think he can. Overall I like Darius Alexander as a 3 down lineman that can provide good quality reps right now and if he reaches his potential, could be a nightmare to play against in a few years.

DT6 ALFRED COLLINS/ TEXAS/ 6"5/ 320 LBS/ LATE 2ND
Pros: Size, Versatility, technique

Cons: Pass rush, laziness

Archetype: Run Stopper

Comparison: DJ Reader

Scouting Report: Alfred Collins has upside as a DT, specifically as a 1 shade. He Has great height, long arms, and a powerful frame that moves quickly off the ball. He has high physical tools and has intangibles you look for in a prospect as well. He plays well against the run, but is very limited in his pass rush part of his game right now. While not the most high motor guy, he even appears lazy at times in his pursuit. His athletic traits and potential give you glimpses of what kind of player he can be. I just wish I saw more play making and disruptiveness when watching his tape. I think Collins can cause chaos upfront in a 3-4 system or be a heavier 4-3 shade.

DT7 TYLIEK WILLIAMS/ OHIO ST/ 6"3/ 327 LBS/ EARLY 3RD
Pros: Handles double teams, Strength, Run Stuffer
Cons: Pass rush, awareness
Archetype: Run Stopper
Comparison: Dalvin Tomlinson
Scouting Report: Tyliek is a 3 tech defensive tackle that’s speciality is stopping the run. His strength and base allow him to take on double teams, holding his gap soundly. He has good size with a quick get off and his effort for pursuit of the ball carrier is there, although he struggles to get there because of his lack of speed. His on field IQ needs to improve (awareness) as well as he often tackles or pursues the opposite direction of the ball carrier. His pass rush is capped off at getting a couple of sacks a season and a handful of pressures, but his calling card will be on early downs as a run stopper. I like Tyliek in specific defensive run situations and think he can provide quality depth as a rotational D Lineman.

DT8 WALTER NOLEN/ OLE MISS/ 6"3/ 305 LBS/ MID 3RD
Pros: Run Block Shred, Strength,
Cons: Technique, pass rush moves, get off
Archetype: Run Stopper
Comparison: Demarvin Leal
Scouting Report: Walter Nolen was disappointing on film. He showed flashes of ability and made a few plays that you nod your head and say that guy will play on sundays. The rest of the time you hardly even know he is there. He is a solid run stopper, particularly against power blocking schemes and has decent enough moventment to pursue zone stretches and lateral plays. He is severely raw as a pass rusher and will have to learn to use his tools to create separation and pressure on the QB. He’s a decent athlete, but his tape tells me there will be better movers on the D line. He can be a situational run stopper, but he will need to improve his pass rush and technique in order to truly make an impact at the NFL level. A late day two pick.

DT9 KENNETH GRANT/ MICHIGAN/ 6"3/ 339 LBS/ MID 3RD
Pros: Size, Motor, Footwork
Cons: Pass Rush, speed
Archetype: Run Stopper
Comparison: Isaiah Buggs
Scouting Report: Kenneth Grant doesn’t pop off the tape like his Wolverine Teammate, but he does show upside at being able to hold an anchor against the run and plug gaps. He has good size and played a lot of reps this year. Some negatives that stood out to me were; his lazy stance, lack of explosiveness off the ball, no viable pass rush moves or plans to win 1v1 and failure to collapse the pocket. He can get very emotional when calls don’t go his way, hardly a knock but more of a cautious observation. I think Kenneth Grant can provide some quality run stopping depth in a 4-3 system, but he will need to improve as a pass rusher if he wants to take his game to another level of where it’s at right now which is why I have him as a 3rd round projection.

DT10 JOSHUA FARMER/ FSU/ 6"3/ 318 LBS/ LATE 3RD
Pros: Block shred, quickness, technique
Cons: Footwork, high motor
Archetype: Balanced
Comparison: Kawann Short
Scouting Report: Joshua Farmer is a good DT prospect that played for a bad team. I think he has good traits including upside as a pass rusher and a run stopper. He penetrates the back field. I liked his tape, but think he needs to develop and grow his rawness in the right NFL system.
