Scouting Report: Luther Burden might be the most exciting receiver when the ball touches his hands. He can make defenders miss, break tackles, speed up and decelerate on a dime. He can get separation and past defenders. Can line up outside, in the slot, or in the back field as a RB at times. He does it all. Little undersized for height, solid weight for a WR. The physical and athletic tools are there. My concerns after watching his tape and doing research on him is his attitude on the field. He’s a very expressive guy, which is fine, but his antics have been called for personal penalties or would be fines at the NFL. He also showed flashes WR1 play, but he was inconsistent and had a less than impressive year statistically. From a pure athletic standpoint he is a 1st round talent, but factoring character, mental toughness, and inconsistency he falls to the 2nd/3rd round in my grading process.
