Duce Robinson

NFL Draft Profile: Duce Robinson

Position: Wide Receiver | School: Florida State (via USC) | Class: Junior

Height: 6'6" | Weight: 223 lbs | Archetype: Physical / Deep Threat / Slot Hybrid

College Career Summary

Duce Robinson entered college as one of the most decorated two-sport athletes in the country, a five-star recruit who also excelled in baseball. After two productive seasons at USC, where he showcased "home-run" potential on a limited target share, he transferred to Florida State for the 2025 season. At FSU, he followed in the footsteps of his father, Dominic Robinson, and immediately became the focal point of the offense.

In 2025, Robinson became the first Seminole since 2019 to surpass 1,000 receiving yards, carrying an otherwise struggling offense. Standing at 6'6", he is a massive target who moves with the fluidity of a player much smaller. While his season was a statistical triumph, it was also a test of grit, as he battled through several lower-body injuries to remain on the field for the Seminoles.

2025 Stats Highlights

  • Receptions: 56 | Receiving Yards: 1,081 | TDs: 6

  • Average: 19.3 YPC (Ranking among the nation's elite deep threats)

  • Drops: Moderate; 6 recorded drops (Focus can waver in the red zone).

  • Career Summary: 95 Rec, 1,828 Yds, 13 TD (Across USC and FSU).

Scouting Grade Rubric

Intangibles (.20) — Grade: 94/100

  • Leadership: Vocal on a young team; legacy status (son of an FSU star) added gravitas.

  • Mental Toughness: High. Played through several "bang-up" injuries in November.

  • Competitor: Wants the ball in high-leverage 50/50 situations.

  • Team Player: Credits his father and FSU history; unselfish as a decoy.

  • Star Power: Elite. A true "matchup nightmare" that coordinators must game-plan around.

Physical Tools (.20) — Grade: 98/100

  • Height/Weight: 6'6", 223 lbs. (Exceeds all targets; rare size-to-speed ratio).

  • Stamina: Good; stays on the field for nearly 100% of offensive snaps.

  • Durability/Injury History: Minor Concern. Battled leg and torso injuries late in 2025.

Attributes (.20) — Grade: 90/100

  • Catching: Very good; massive 10"+ hands. Occasional concentration drops in short areas.

  • Route Running: Improving; more of a vertical "strider" than a twitchy technician.

  • Body Control: Elite. Basketball/baseball background shines in mid-air adjustments.

  • Separation: Wins via height and length; creates space by "stacking" DBs on vertical routes.

  • Release: Can be jammed by physical press but uses a strong "swipe" to clear.

Athleticism (.20) — Grade: 92/100

  • Speed: 4.52 (Estimated). Deceptive long-strider speed that eats up cushion.

  • Agility: Above average for a 6'6" player; fluid hips on post/corner breaks.

  • Jumping: High. Elite vertical timing; "plays above the rim."

  • Acceleration: Build-up speed; takes a few steps to hit his peak gear.

  • Break Tackle: Uses size to push through contact; falls forward for 2-3 extra yards.

IQ (.20) — Grade: 95/100

  • Awareness: Exceptional; highly adept at finding soft spots in zone coverage.

NFL Scouting Report

  • Strengths: Rare 6'6" frame with genuine wideout fluidity; elite deep-ball tracking; massive catch radius that saves inaccurate QBs; versatility to play X, Z, or Big Slot; high-IQ "football family" pedigree.

  • Weaknesses: Tall frame offers a large target for press corners to jam; occasionally lacks short-area "shake"; needs to refine consistency at the catch point (avoiding "body" catches).

  • Scheme Fit: Ideal X-Receiver in a Vertical or West Coast system that utilizes size-mismatches (e.g., Colts, Falcons, Lions).

  • NFL Comparison: Mike Evans / Darren Waller (hybrid).

Scout's Final Word

"Duce Robinson is a unicorn. You don't often find players with his height who can move this naturally as a receiver rather than a tight end. His 2025 season showed he can handle a high volume of targets while double-teamed. While he isn't a 4.3 burner, his 'stack-and-pluck' ability is elite. If he tests well at the Combine, he’s can be a 4th-6th round guy.

Draft Projection: Day 3
