Keagen Trost

NFL Draft Profile: Keagen Trost

Position: Offensive Tackle (RT) | School: Missouri (via Wake Forest/Indiana State) | Class: Graduate Senior

Height: 6'6" | Weight: 316 lbs | Archetype: Balanced (Dominant Run Blocker with Technical Pass Pro)

College Career Summary

Keagen Trost is the ultimate "portal success story." After beginning his journey at Morgan State (2019) and Indiana State (2020–23), he transferred to Wake Forest (2024) where he proved he could compete at the Power Five level. However, his 2025 season at Missouri was nothing short of legendary. Stepping in at Right Tackle, Trost finished the regular season with the highest PFF offensive grade (91.6) of any offensive lineman in the nation.

Trost anchored a Missouri front that ranked 8th nationally in rushing, paving the way for breakout star Ahmad Hardy. Statistically, Trost was a titan: in 11 games against SEC competition, he allowed only two sacks and boasted a 98.6% pass-blocking efficiency. His ability to transition through four schools and peak as a Consensus All-American in the SEC has made him one of the most intriguing "late bloomers" in the 2026 draft class.

Scouting Grade Rubric

Intangibles (.20) — Grade: 96/100

  • Leadership: Plus; veteran presence who learned four different playbooks and led everywhere.

  • Mental Toughness: Elite. Overcame the "small school" stigma to lead the nation in PFF grading.

  • Competitor: High; known for a "finishing" mentality in the run game.

  • Team Player: Credits the "Joe Moore" unit; fits perfectly into Mizzou’s blue-collar culture.

  • Star: High; his 91.6 PFF grade made him the statistical "Star" of college OLs in 2025.

Physical Tools (.20) — Grade: 88/100

  • Height/Weight: 6'6", 316 lbs. (Exceeds both benchmarks). Prototypical NFL frame.

  • Stamina: High; logged 800+ snaps at RT with zero drop-off in efficiency.

  • Durability: Plus; has played full seasons at Indiana State, Wake, and Mizzou.

  • Injury History: Medically clean; no significant missed time over a long career.

Attributes (.20) — Grade: 93/100

  • Run Block: Strength. Nation-leading 90.9 PFF run-blocking grade.

  • Pass Block: Plus; 98.6% efficiency is elite, though technically slightly behind his run blocking.

  • Strength: Plus; displays "old man strength" at the point of attack.

  • Technique: High; very disciplined; zero penalties in 2025 is a staggering stat.

  • High Motor: Constant; looks to pancake defenders on every down-block.

Athleticism (.20) — Grade: 81/100

  • Speed: Average; good enough to get to the second level, but not a "freak" mover.

  • Agility: Plus; short-area lateral recovery is surprisingly good for his age/size.

  • Flexibility: Moderate; can occasionally play too high (pad level) but shows good knee bend.

  • Acceleration: Good; explosive first step into the defender’s chest.

  • Footwork: Clean; efficient steps; rarely gets "crossed up" by stunts.

IQ (.20) — Grade: 98/100

  • Awareness: Elite. Transitioning through multiple systems has given him a PhD in defensive looks.

Scouting Report

  • Strengths: Prototypical NFL size and frame; staggering technical discipline (0 penalties in 2025); elite run-blocking displacement; high-level experience against multiple defensive schemes (ACC, SEC, MVC).

  • Weaknesses: Age. Entering the NFL as an older prospect (6th-year senior); speed off the edge can occasionally force him to "reach," leading to balance issues; pad level tends to rise against shorter, high-motor rushers.

  • Scheme Fit: Versatile; best suited for a Zone/Power Hybrid scheme (e.g., Lions, Packers, Bengals).

  • NFL Comparison: Taylor Moton / Rob Havenstein.

Scout's Final Word

"Keagen Trost is the draft's most 'pro-ready' right guard. While scouts may nitpick his age, his 2025 tape is a masterclass in efficiency. You don't lead the nation in PFF grading by accident—Trost is a technician who uses his 6'6" frame to dictate the terms of every engagement. He is a plug-and-play starter who provides immediate value in the run game and reliable protection on the blindside's counterpart. Draft Projection: 3rd Round."
