Logan Jones

NFL Draft Profile: Logan Jones

Position: Center | School: Iowa | Class: Redshirt Senior

Height: 6'3" | Weight: 302 lbs | Archetype: Run Blocker (Elite Mobility/Technician)

College Career Summary

Logan Jones completes one of the most successful developmental arcs in Iowa Hawkeyes history. Originally recruited as a defensive tackle, Jones made the transition to center in 2022 to replace first-round pick Tyler Linderbaum. After initial growing pains, Jones matured into a Unanimous All-American and the 2025 Rimington Trophy winner as the nation’s best center.

The 2025 season was a dominant campaign where Jones served as the engine for a Joe Moore Award-finalist offensive line. He anchored an offense that set quarterback rushing records and surrendered only 16 sacks total. Jones finished as the only center in the nation ranked in the top five for both pass blocking (No. 2) and run blocking (No. 3) by Pro Football Focus. His combination of elite functional strength—evidenced by his school-record 705-pound squat—and "Freaks List" athleticism makes him one of the highest-floor interior prospects in recent years.

Scouting Report

  • Strengths: Generational explosive metrics for a center (vertical, shuttle, squat); elite technical foundation in the zone-run game; zero holding penalties and zero sacks in 2025; pro-ready diagnostic skills for line calls.

  • Weaknesses: Size Profile. At 6'3", he lacks the prototypical "length" some teams want at the pivot; occasionally vulnerable to elite "long-arm" bull rushes from 340-lb NFL nose tackles; strictly a center—may struggle if asked to kick out to guard due to lack of bulk.

  • Scheme Fit: Ideal for a Wide Zone or Heavy Pulling system (e.g., Lions, Rams, 49ers).

  • NFL Comparison: Tyler Linderbaum / Jason Kelce.

Scout's Final Word

"Logan Jones is the most athletic center to come out of Iowa since Tyler Linderbaum. While his 6'3" frame will lead to 'undersized' labels, his tape against the Big Ten’s best proves he is a leverage master. He is a plug-and-play starter who brings a defensive tackle's violence to the offensive side of the ball. He won't just block his man; he'll put them in the dirt. Draft Projection: 3rd Round."
